For those of you finishing up the latest block party quilt we thought it might be helpful to have a photo - so here it is.
Have fun getting it done.
We hope to start the next block party sometime in July. We will revisit "Never enough Pumpkins". Photos coming soon so stay tuned!
We still have a few slots for next week's mystery quilt - give us a call, it's looking cute.

Seasons of change
We are excited to introduce the Seasons of Change program here at Morgansons.
Becky likes to put up a different quilt or decor item as the seasons change. To make it a little more convenient, she decided to create a small framed wall hanging. Each month brings a new wall hanging that can easily be switched out to utilize the same frame. As she thought about this idea she got pretty excited and immediately went to her sketch pad to capture some of the ideas running around in her mind. As she was sketching and contemplating she thought to herself, "I'll bet others might like to do this too". And so -- Seasons of Change was born.
Each month we will offer a different kit to create a small wall quilt. Each kit will be only $12.50 and will include instructions and the foam board for mounting. The kits will be available on the 15th of each month for those who have signed up and prepaid. We will begin in July with the Family wall quilt shown below which is intended to hang for the month of August.
Ideas for future months are seen below.
For those participating in the program, frames will be available at a 20% discount. You can choose the 2 1/2 inch rustic white as seen above or 2 1/2 inch sanded black as shown below for $43.32.
1 1/2 inch versions of both black and white are also available for $29.82 as seen in the photos below.
Call us soon to sign up for the program. (You might want to consider doing two so you have an extra to gift to a good friend.) The frames are hand made here at the shop so order soon so we can make sure it's completed in time to hang the first quilt in August.
For questions or sign ups contact us at 801-465-9133.

Free shop hop pattern
Becky found herself with a little extra time on her hands as she was preparing for shop hop this week (NOT) so she decided to do a second version of our free block party pattern. This version is a four block wall hanging without all of the hand stitching.
As usual, the real thing looks a lot better but it turned out nice don't you think? Stop in this week to get your free pattern.
The fabrics below are from the collection we will be using for this month's mystery quilt.
The monthly mystery quilts are only 29.00. Call us at 801-465-9133 to sign up.

In My Town
We found out recently that our grandson will be moving out of his crib this fall to make way for grand baby number 2 (yeah!). So he will be needing a quilt for his big boy bed. He happened to see the quilt last night while they were visiting. He wouldn't let go long enough to let Becky bind it. I guess this quilt has found its home.
The quilt is done with log cabin blocks. Follow the cutting directions in the instructions. Cut the longest strips first to best utilize the fabrics. Make sure to use an accurate 1/4 inch seam throughout.
Sew a 5 1/4 inch strip to the center squares.
Sew a 6 3/4 inch strip to each of the resulting units.
Next add another 6 3/4 inch strip.
Then the 8 1/4 inch strips
The 9 3/4 inch strips
And finally, the 11 1/4 inch strip.
Sew the blocks into rows of 5. Create 6 rows and sew them together.
Sew the 2 inch border all around the quilt.
Quilt as desired. Bind and enjoy!
