April mystery quilt - Elk in the pines

This pattern works up very quickly.  We wanted to leave the focal fabric in big chunks so the elk didn't get chopped into little bitty pieces.  The finished quilt would make a great fathers day gift for the outdoors man in your life.

Have fun!

Randomly sew the 6 ½ inch squares in sets of two.  Create 20 sets.

Sew these units to the 6 ½ x 12 ½ inch rectangles.  Create 20 squares.

Sew four blocks together to form a row.  Turn each block to achieve a random feel.

Create five rows and sew together.

Add the borders.
(Speaking of borders, yours will be different.  We had just enough border fabric to do the kits.  Becky ended up using whatever was left.)

Quilt as desired.  Bind and enjoy!

It seems like there should be more to it but we're done!  It's a fun, easy one.

We are planning on using fabric from Riley Blake's Willow line for the May mystery quilt.  Here is a sampling of some of the fabrics.

We'd love to have you join us.  Give us a call at 801-465-9133.
