Apple Pudding Cake recipe
Thanks so much for visiting us during Shop Hop. So many of you have asked for Apple Pudding Cake recipe with Warm Caramel Sauce. Here it is and it really does taste as good as it looks!
Apple Pudding Cake
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
2 Cups flour
8 grated apples (I leave the peels on)
Optional - Raisins or nuts
Stir sugar, shortening, and eggs together. Add dry ingredients and grated apples. Stir. Place in greased 9" x 13" pan. Bake 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold top with warm caramel sauce, whipped cream or ice cream.
Caramel Sauce
2 Cups brown sugar
1 Cup light corn syrup
1/2 Cup butter
1 Can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix sugar, syrup, and butter until melted. Add sweetened condensed milk. Bring to a boil for one minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Caramel sets up when cool. Warm it before serving, a couple of tablespoons of half and half can be added to achieve desired consistency.
Enjoy!
