In My Town

We found out recently that our grandson will be moving out of his crib this fall to make way for grand baby number 2 (yeah!).  So he will be needing a quilt for his big boy bed.  He happened to see the quilt last night while they were visiting.  He wouldn't let go long enough to let Becky bind it.  I guess this quilt has found its home.

The quilt is done with log cabin blocks.  Follow the cutting directions in the instructions.  Cut the longest strips first to best utilize the fabrics.  Make sure to use an accurate 1/4 inch seam throughout.

Sew a 5 1/4 inch strip to the center squares.

Sew a 6 3/4 inch strip to each of the resulting units.

Next add another 6 3/4 inch strip.

Then the 8 1/4 inch strips

The 9 3/4 inch strips

And finally, the 11 1/4 inch strip.

Sew the blocks into rows of 5.  Create 6 rows and sew them together.

Sew the 2 inch border all around the quilt.

Quilt as desired.  Bind and enjoy!
