Block one is created with 16 half square triangle patches.

8) white 4" squares
6) green 4" squares
2) yellow 4" squares
Begin by drawing a diagonal line on the back of each of the eight white squares.
Place a white square with one of the print squares making sure the right sides are facing and the outside edges are aligned.
Sew 1/4 inch on each side of the drawn line.
Cut on the line.
Repeat, matching all of the white squares with one of the print squares.
Square the half square triangle patches to 3 1/2 inches. (Most of you know we love the Quilt in a Day triangle square up ruler for this task.)
Clip the excess fabric at each end of the seam allowance to eliminate bulk.
Press the squares toward the print fabrics.
Arrange and sew the patches together as shown in the photo above.
Completed block should measure 12 1/2" x 12 1/2".
