Here is block twelve. You're almost done!
For this block you will need:
1) 4 1/2 inch blue center
4) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 gray rectangles
4) 2 1/2 inch squares of background
8) 3 inch background squares
4) 3 inch navy
4) 3 inch gray
2) 3 inch medium blue
2) 3 inch light blue
Draw a diagonal line on the back of the 3" background squares, two of the light blue squares.
Match 4 of the 3" background squares with the 4 navy.
Match the 4 remaining 3" background squares with the gray squares.
Match the 3" light blue with the 3" medium blue squares.
Sew 1/4 inch on each side of the drawn lines.
Cut on the line.
Square the resulting half square triangles to measure 2 1/2 inches.
Trim off the excess points on the seam and press toward the blue fabric.
Use the photo at the top of the post as a guide to assemble and sew the block together.
We will be starting a new Sampler the second Saturday of April. A couple of blocks are shown below.
You can do all twelve blocks for only $12.00. We are working out the details for the finishing but you know it will look great.

I have read your article and this is really an amazing post for increasing skill in this concern department.
ReplyDeleteClearly, I'm a little bit behind but are there instructions posted to finish it all off? I have the squares and a kit, but no instructions about putting it all together.
ReplyDeleteI have 12 blocks and another stack of fabrics that I think were intended to be the boarder/connecting pieces, but I don't have any instructions for putting it all together. Do you still have these instructions?
