Lady Bird Johnson said, "Where flowers bloom, so does hope".
This is a quilt of hope - hope for the future, hope for happiness for all, hope that good things will come to you in the coming year. Thanks so much for joining us on our journey of hope as we begin this Saturday sampler series. Have fun!
For block one you will need:
1) 4 1/2 inch black and white plaid square
2) 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch green strips
2) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch green strips
4) 4 inch light squares
4) 4 inch pink floral squares
4) 3 1/2 inch pink floral squares
Sew the 1 1/2 inch green strips to the black and white plaid square to create a border.
Draw a diagonal line on the back of all of the 4 inch light squares.
Match the light squares with the 4 inch pink squares making sure the right sides are together and the outside edges are aligned.
Sew 1/4 inch on both sides of the drawn line.
Cut on the line.
Square to 3 1/2 inches and press toward the pink.
Use the photo below as a guide to assemble the components to create the block.
Happy Sewing!
