January mystery quilt

 Another fabric mystery has been solved at Morganson's.  The January mystery quilt turned out beautifully!

The photo above includes the optional border.

We need to let you know that the shop will be closed next week (February 1-5) for the annual Winter Quilt Retreat near Bryce Canyon at which we vend and teach classes.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Because we will be closed for the retreat, we will not be hosting a $5.95 First Friday sale in February. Thanks for your understanding.  

We will post a photo of the February mystery fabrics as soon as we find the fabric so please check back.

Jan. mystery fabrics/First Friday reminder

We will be using a layer cake from the Poppy and Posey collection by Riley Blake Designs for the January mystery quilt.

Please call us at 801-465-9133 to reserve your spot.  

Also-tomorrow (Jan 7th) is the first Friday of the month.  

Because of the rising cost of fabric we will offer fabric for $5.95 per yard instead of $5.55.  

It's still a steal of a deal so come and get some!

 

Second Saturday Sampler block 9

 

For this block you will need:

4) 4-inch white squares

4) 4-inch pink squares

4) 3 1/2 -inch pink squares

2) 3-inch rose gold squares

2) 3-inch black print squares

5) 2 1/2 -inch green squares

Draw a diagonal line on the back of the 4-inch white squares.  Place the squares together with the 4-inch pink squares making sure the right sides are together and the outside edges are aligned.  Sew 1/4 inch on each side of the line.  Cut on the line and square to 3 1/2 inches.  Press toward the pink.

Repeat the process using the 3-inch black print and the rose gold squares.  Square these to 2 1/2 inches.  Press toward the black.

Arrange the components and sew together as shown in the photo below.
