Sewing:
Match 2 of the red 4" squares with 2 mint 4" squares.  Make sure the right sides are together and the outside edges are aligned.  Draw a diagonal line on the back of the mint squares.  Sew 1/4 inch on each side of the line.  Cut on the line.  Square up to measure 3 1/2".  Press.

Repeat the process matching 6 red squares with 6 background squares and 6 mint squares with 6 background squares. Square to 3 1/2" and press.

Use the photo above to arrange the squares and sew the block together.

Congratulations! You have completed all the blocks needed for the first vertical row of the quilt.  These four blocks are sewn together with a row of 2 1/2" squares between them.

Sew 8) 2 1/2" squares together in a row.  Create 3 of these rows.  Sew one to the top of blocks 1, 2, and 3. Sew the first 3 blocks together in a vertical row.

Sew 26) 2 1/2" squares together and sew to the left side of the first three blocks.

Sew 9) 2 1/2" squares together and sew to the top of block 4.

Sew block 4 to the bottom of the first three blocks.

Sew 36) 2 1/2" squares together and sew to the right side of the four block section.

We love that you are using up some of your scraps.  If you don't have pieces large enough for borders we have the fabric that was used on our sample quilt available.  It takes a half yard for the first border and      1 1/2 yards for the final border.

Happy Quilting!
