Second Sat. Sampler block 10

Hope your new year is off to a wonderful start.  We only have three blocks left to complete this sampler.  Time flies when you are having fun!

For this block you will need:
8) 4" background squares
2) 4" dark blue squares
2) 4" med. blue squares
2) 4" red squares
2) 4" different red squares

Draw a diagonal line on the back of each of the background squares.

Match a background square to each of the print squares with the right sides together and the outside edges aligned.  Sew 1/4 inch on each side of the drawn line.  Cut on the line.  Square each section to 3 1/2 inches and trim the excess points of the seams.  Press toward the print.

Assemble the resulting 1/2 square triangles as pictured above to create the block.  (Your kit has 2 red squares instead of 2 dark blue.)

We have three finishing kits left if anyone wants to complete the quilt like ours.  They will find a home with the first folks to come and get them.

We need to let you know the shop will be closed as we will be participating in the annual retreat at Ruby's Inn near Bryce Canyon.  We will plan on having kits ready the first Saturday in February or you can pick them up the following week.  Thanks.

Happy sewing!
